5 Things I Learned Working Behind the Scenes with a Launch Strategist | SarahEutsler.comThe past two weeks I’ve been swamped with work. I guess everyone is coming out of that crazy, “hey, 2015, let’s plan a lot of stuff and make you awesome” January phase and actually starting to put those ideas into motion RIGHTHISSECOND.

One of the most fun things I worked on was helping Farideh launch her online course FB Ads for Launching. First, if you aren’t familiar with Farideh, go check her out. Right now. I’ll wait. She’s really awesome. I might want to be her when I grow up. And I was totally flattered when she asked me to help her out with design and VA tasks for her course.

The best projects are always ones that I get a chance to learn, and that’s what helped make this one such a great experience. Since Farideh specializes in helping her clients with launches, it was great to see her behind-the-scenes with her own launch. Here’s what I took away:

1) Hire a killer team

As Farideh wrote in her own blog post re-cap, she hired a small army to get through everything. Having the “I can do it all” mindset won’t always work for you, unless you want to quickly run yourself into the ground. Ask for help. Hire people who will make you look good.

2) There is always something more to do

We started out with a relatively small task list, but as the week went on that list grew. There are always going to be tasks you forgot about at the beginning that are important to producing an awesome finished product. They key is making room for them up front by budgeting time (and money) for the surprises.

3) Don’t flip out

Speaking of surprises, expect them. Know that something terrible is probably going to happen (in this case, a cease and desist letter). What blew me away, though, was the quick action and levelheadedness of the problem solving. I probably would have curled up in the fetal position and cried Justin Timberlake a river for a bit, but you can’t. Stay calm. It will all work out.

4) Be crazy organized

I’d been slightly experimenting with a Basecamp free trial for my own personal projects, but working on this launch got me an inside peek at how awesome it is in action. Multiple to do lists with assigned tasks, file uploads, and discussions lived in perfect organized harmony that made finding things easy. Even if you’re flying solo, a project management tool of some sort will help you stay focused. Plus, there’s nothing better than the burst of success you feel when you knock off one of those tasks and click the check box to send it to completed territory.

5) Use Facebook ads for world domination

I knew very little about Facebook ads going into this course, so getting to work with the material before it was released into the world was a huge learning bonus. Plus, I got to see Facebook ads in action for the course itself. It kind of blew my mind how awesome Facebook ads can be for growing your business. Overall, if you’re looking to grow your email list or promote a new program or offering, I highly recommend checking out how to make Facebook ads work for you. But if the technical stuff of the ads makes your head spin, Farideh’s course is informative, easy to comprehend, and fun. And no, I’m not getting paid to write this and I’m not an affiliate. I just think it’s a really great course!
